2026 Summer Kick-off
DRAGGIN' MAIN
Saturday Night Cruise
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the start of summer
at the “Draggin’ Main” Saturday Night Cruise on Saturday, June 6,
in downtown Downs. Hosted by Downs Community Connection, the family-friendly evening will combine food, games, classic vehicles, and a community raffle benefiting the future Veterans Memorial site.
Festivities begin from 6 to 7 p.m. at Gazebo Park with a pulled pork meal served
for free-will donations. Proceeds from the meal will support upcoming community improvement projects led by Downs Community Connection.
At 7 p.m., participants can take part in an around-town scavenger hunt,
with clues available at the gazebo.
The raffle drawing and community cruise will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Organizers encourage anyone with a classic car, restored truck, motorcycle, or everyday vehicle to join the cruise through downtown Downs. Community
members are also invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the evening
festivities along Main Street.
The event is part of Downs Community Connection’s continuing efforts to
promote community involvement, enhance local gathering spaces,
and support projects that benefit the community.

In addition to the cruise, Downs Community Connection is currently holding a raffle fundraiser to benefit the Veterans Memorial Park project. Tickets are available for $10 each or three for $25.

Raffle tickets may be purchased at the Downs City Office, Corner Drug, The Hair Shop & Boutique 602, Miller Hardware and from members of Downs Community Connection. Tickets will also be available for purchase through 7:30 p.m. at the Draggin' Main event before the drawing.
